Well, I think major use is for protection from negative energy, just sprinkle i talong your windows frame and doorsteps. and banishing. It is also used in banishing, binding rituals or to quiet bothersome neighbours.

The other night I was dreaming about the flood.
I was sightseeing in unknow city suburbs, taking photos with my Nikon, when suddenly the silver or dark grey water started filling streets and all small narrow alleys. It was moving very fast, with a lots of delicate whirpools here and there.
I ran for higher ground. I reached it. I looked around and I could see everything around me flooded with silver or dark grey water. Then this water satrted to reach the high ground I was standing on, now that was very very scary, especially the thoughts that there is nowhere to run. I could see the water rising and my feet in trainers disapearing under. In the last attempt I tried to run somewhere to safe myself....... and I woke up...

Apparently it represents the need to release some sexual desires. If the flood is raging, then it represents emotional issues and tension. the repressed emotions are overwhelming you. My thoughts - rebirth & resurrection. We need to bear the consequensces of our decisions and actions. Each action gives reaction - 3rd law of Netwon's laws of motion. Things coming back to haunt us. Revisiting and taking resposibility for your actions (both past & present). Forgiveness. Facing consequences. Learning from experience.
We tend to pigeonhole people but we should not judge the situation lightly and we need to analyze before issuing opinions. Many things can be hidden.

There are wounds from the past that we never let heal, sins we've committed that we refuse to forgive, bad habits we haven't the courage to lose. Judgement advises us to finally face these, recognize that the past is past, and put them to rest, absolutely and irrevocably.It deals with very hard and final decisions. It means facing something that most of us don't want to face.

This is not about Death, something ending whether you want it to or not, this is about deciding to make a change, to stop doing something that isn't working and do something that will work. With little bit of encouragement I decided to start working with my tarot cards again.
Megan Limitless Living (a very experienced Tarot reader) draws one card per day and finds its meaning.

Today card - The Fool

My first thoughts - this is the first card of major arcana, the beginning, new start; we give the impression of recklessness, being irresponsible and without obligation, but in life subconsciously, we know what to do, we take responsibility for our actions and we are serious about things that concern us.

The book says - starting sth new, learning by experience, taking risks, childlike innocence, potential.

We are back at zero, whether that be in romantic affairs, or career, work or intellectual pursuits. Far from being sad or frustrated by having to start over, we feel remarkably *free*, light hearted and refreshed, as if being given a second chance. We feel young and energized, as excited as a child who has discovered a new toyshop. Who knows what we will find on the shelves?

In addition, we likely have no idea where we're going or what we're going to do. But that doesn't matter. For the Fool, the most important thing is to just go out and enjoy the world. To see what there is to see and delight in all of it.
Unfortunately, this childlike state can make one overly optimistic or naive. A Fool can be a Fool. That business opportunity might not be so surefire or amazing as it seems, and that new lover might not be so flawless.
Like the Fool, you might be so busy sightseeing and imagining the possibilities that you completely miss the fact that you're about to go right off a cliff! However exciting new beginnings may be, you still have to watch your step.

I moved house, well actually I moved flat, well to be precise I exchanged room for flat.
My witch Sister Maelen with her son moved from Ireland to Edinburgh. We had a long but great trip Edi-Dub-Edi to get her stuff into van and drive it across Irish Sea to Scotland. Many thanks to our great driver Dave :)
So we moved in together to a nice flat, still in the city centre. We are almost unpacked. The kitchen and bathroom is fully operative as is the phone line and internet yay! :)

A while ago friend of mine introduced me to spirulina, an algae, in its dry powdered state.
Reading pros and cons it looks interesting. So I decided to try it.
Today I bought first 100g of dark green powder, added a teaspoon to glass of water, mixed it and drank it.
Well, it definetly does not taste like hot chocolate or red wine ;]
Next time I'm going to try it with smoothie or veggie/ fruit juice.

Spirulina is a nutrient rich blue-green algae packed with proteins, vitamins and minerals. This organic powder contains important amino acids including lysine, cysteine, methionine, phenylalanine and threonine. It has a high iron content (more than spinach) and contains more beta-carotene than carrots. Spirulina is also a very rich source of Vitamin B-12.
As a food Spirulina has been consumed in various forms over centuries in different parts of the world. Its protein constituent is in an easily digested form. It also contains minerals, vitamins, essential fatty acids and antioxidants that are not available to humans from any single food of vegetable or animal source known so far.

That was the quickest Beltane for me, so far. Being The White and in the core of event made the time fly.

Well, it was great, awesome, powerfull and so white energetic ;) !!!!

I don't remember when last time I was so white. Well, actually, yes, I think it was during my Holy Communion day ;D

And Reds? In my perception, they were quite pussies this year. I did not feel fully this red energy (that makes me think this is not the end). It was The Whites who seduce them and share them between ourselves ;]

My white plant keeps growing, now 3sprouts. My white costume is pink. My dagger (Bellatrix's replica not real one unfortunatelly :/) was blessed during Beltane night.

Whites and Reds

The Whites belong to May Queens court and encompass many aspects of warriors - an army of strength and protection to surround and ensure the safety of the court at Beltane.
The Whites are the order and discipline to the Reds’ chaos and misrule.

Reds are the spirits of chaos and disorder, the Reds and their musicians, the Red Beastie Drummers, try to disrupt the procession with their lewd and lascivious behaviour.
The Reds are the Lords and Ladies of Misrule. Beltane is their night of mischief – the World Turn’d Upside Down – the one night of the year where fools become kings.

In previous years, when I witnessed Reds interaction with other groups and Whites, I could feel the red energy. And I was fascinated, bewitched and drag into it.

This year, when I'm White Warrior and I am about to have interaction with Reds (and to have my own Red) I cannot feel it at all. When we rehearse and choreograf our interaction, I feel inside me that I do not want Reds near me. I don't want their energy, I don't want them.

Maybe the reason is that Reds said that this year, they are different, they are not so sexual and mischievous as in previous years. They are one blob of chaotic, non-structural energy. So who are they for me?

Red, as a colour and energy, I always associate with passion, desire, sexuality, blood, life, chaos. Mostly red for me is passion and sexuality. I am as White - order, structure and control. And I do not know what I should want from Reds this year, what they can give me? A chaos? Not fancy that.

So far I feel only gratitude for them, as they give as energy to revive Whites once Horned God is reborn as Green Man and becomes May Queen consort.

I'm not worried I do not feel the red energy. I'm just very suprised by my reaction to Reds this year. I do realize that all might fall into place and kick in on the Beltane night.

This weekend in Glen Nevis, near Steall Waterfall in white hut.
To get there is 45min walk from the car park (+ from Edinburgh it's 4hrs drive) and wire bridge crossing. The bridge is roughly 3m/ 10ft above the Water of Nevis and roughly 6m/ 20ft in length and I bet it gets wobbly in the middle.

My wish for the weekend is not to die and not to get wet :]

It is breathtaking and magical. I loved it and I still do.
The story, Fantasia land, Atreyu, Artax, Falkor, Childlike Empresses.
This great movie left such strong impressions I shall positively always remember it and cherish the memory of such a marvellous story....
25yrs later after I was in love with Atreyu I met him ;)

11^th of September 2010 marked the 9^th anniversary of the air attack on the USA - World Trade Centre, Pentagon and the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. The Islamaphobia is on rise not only in the US, it's hitting Europe as well and the campaign of hate starts to be present in media, on the streets, infecting people worse than a flu virus.
My friend Trish from Glasgow, in support of people of islam organized "Wear a Hijab Day", a project which started in the US. Few non muslim women gathered on saturday 11.09. Me and Trish wore hijab. We were accompanied by Trish two kids and our other friend.

How did I feel wearing hijab? Well, I definetly was anxious and little nervous when we left the flat and walked to catch the train to the city centre. We board the train which was full of football fans and their sons. We attracted a few stares and smillies. This anxiousness stayed with me all day.
I was anxious that I will stand out as a muslim - normally I don't mind to stand out from the crowd and being stared at and I actually enjoy it. But on this day I realised that locals, non muslim people stare at me differently. White woman and muslim - that is disgusting, she converted to islam, what did she do to herself, prefers some arab over normal white european guy, where this world is going, muslims are flooding us and taking our women. I was affraid someone might insult us or offend in public

While walking in the city centre we still atrracted stares from people. Disgust from locals, sometimes suprised look. I thought that maybe muslim women wearing hijab will give us a nod or a smile, but they rather looked unsure, suprised and a little bit suspicious. I realized I was avoiding looking at other people and I was focusing on distant objects or on the pavement design. I didn't want to attract any attention to myself to not provoked anyone, to not hear nasty comments or be accused "Why are you staring at me you f**g terrorist bitch". The awkwardness was all over me. The hijab was not part of me and I could feel it on my head all the time. Ok, I'm not use to it but I think it's more about my conciousness knew it makes me stand out and assigns me to islam.

Interesting thoughts and emotions hit me when we went to a caffee. I was waiting in the queue for my turn. My friends were served and went to sit at the table. A couple of women, european, no head scarf gathered near the counter, next to me, to see what cakes and sandwiches are available. It was my turn to order and the barista served them first! He knew I was waiting to order. I got a little bit angry and my first thought was "Is it because I'm wearing hijab? You don't treat me equal as customer because I look different?". I felt like 5th category citizen, with no rights, who even should not to dare coming to public space.
Well, maybe barista was chaotic an unorganized and had a bad day. Or maybe my feelings were correct. Or maybe I'm over sensitive.

I admitt, when I moved to UK I stared at muslim women in hijab or burka. It was a novelty for me. Being brought up in predominat catholic country I saw NO MUSLIM wearing hijab. Even now sometimes I stare at muslim women, but won't be now. Believe me, it sucks!

Hats off to Muslim women who wear hijab. I really understand why I don’t see any women out travelling alone that way. At the very least they travel in groups of friends.
I can also understand why Muslims would choose to live in areas where there are other Muslims. You don’t feel so alienated if you’re not the only one wearing hijab.

The element of Water triumphs over dead bodies of vikings when the May Queen with one gesture calms the sea.

"That's enough!"

Sirens surround the Vikings, their voices powerfull, the creatures full of magic with keening bring back to life the dead ones. The Siren Champion Mergen Swan takes Viking Champion Wilde Ordfurna hand and they walk together towards the Goddess. They offer her a gift - the drinking horn fill with mead. She accepts it.

The sea is calm. Sirens and vikings are united.
But the red mist is approaching them.

It's not a mist, they are Reds the energy of chaos and mischief. Newborn to the world are discovering their emotions, sexuality, freedom. The Sirens show them the passion and they dance together, while watched by the vikings. Wilde Ordfurna blows the horn - the Reds start taking away the Sirens, they draw their attention more and more, so the vikings chase them away.

Suddenly an evil roar drags the attention of Freo Wulf.
He points towards big wave - it is a Jormungand The World Serpent! He brings all the negativity to the sea, to the Sirens. He is strong, only united forces can destroy it. Sirens side by side with Vikings fight the Jormungand.

The sea is calm again.....

The Polish President Lech Kaczyński, his wife Maria, 86 high officials from polish ministries and 8 crew members died in plane TU-154 crash near Smoleńsk, western Russia.

The Polish delegation was flying in from Warsaw to mark 70 years since the Katyń massacre of thousands of Poles (military officers, intellectuals, policemen, and other public servants) by the Soviet NKVD, based on a proposal from Lavrentiy Beria to execute all members of the Polish Officer Corps. during WWII. Dated March 5, 1940, this official document was then approved by the entire Soviet Politburo including Joseph Stalin and Beria.

The history almost repeats itself.

During WWII Poland lost all its entire elite in Katyń. Today my country suffered incredible loss of experienced people near Katyń again.

This night the sea is still. Only the viking ship is driftting in the moonlight.

Its crew four strong men and dark-haired woman sit in the silence, cape wrapped.

Freo Wulf (Free Wolf) points towards what looks like an iceberg. The ship is driftting direct onto it.

Is it the moonlight? The iceberg is changing its shape.

Did you hear that? That sweet, delicious, alluring voice.

Look! They are beautiful!

The stern of the ship almost touching the iceberg.

It's not an iceberg anymore. Beautiful sirens calling us "Come brave warriors, your glory will last forever in our songs".

Hold Bera (Faithful Bear) jump off the ship. The Sirens take him into their arms, sucking the life out of him, feeding on its soul.

The vikings draw their swords, ready to attack.

The Siren Champion Mergen Swan (Morning Swan) steps out with the sword pointed towards Viking Champion Wilde Ordfurna (Wild Warrior).

The battle begins. Sirens keening, the sea is stormy now.

The Vikings call for Odin's force.

Wilde Ordfurna is wounded by the Siren Champion's sword. He knows this is the end for him. He crawls towards his companions, who try to protect him with their shields and drag him on the ship.

Mergen Swan grabs him by the hair on his head, pulling it and cuts his throat.

She takes the precious drinking horn, fills it with crystal clear water, drinks from it.

Beald Bar (Bold Boar), Freo Wulf and Hraefnfeax (Raven Hair) are taking Wilde Ordfurna lifeless body.

The Water triumphs.

It's bloody freezing here in Edinburgh :/ Yesterday morning on the bottom of my bedroom window I found frozen condensation water. Heating is EXTREMELY expensive here. So we have it on just for a 4-6hrs per day, usually once we are back from work, in the evening (me and my flatmates).

The Winter is rollig on and the darkness is enveloping us.

The Earth sleeps, preparing itself for its emergence in Springtime.

The people of the land shiver and cosy in with each other, standing against the biting cold.

The trees stand bare and seemingly lifeless across the land. But all is not dead. Nature stares this adversity on the eye and refuses to die The Winter chill only serves to make us want to dance together, to share body heat, to eat til we're bursting, drink til we're merry and laugh til our faces ache.
Nature lives on, the Holly has sprouted its precious berries, its ostentatious and, some might say lascivious, scarlet hue warming the monochromatic melancholy, reminding us that the Wild Man of the Woods still stalks the land, surveying his Kingdom.

And the Winter King wants us to enjoy the season.

We have reached the shortest day, the longest night. From here on in we lookforward to the coming of the Spring. The emergence of snowdrops and daffodils is just round the corner. Together we shall light the darkness!

Come celebrate the Winter Solstice with your brethren, revel in the turning of the tide.

Oh yes, I usually start it early to avoid madness between shoppers ;]

2. Tell me about one of your special holiday traditions.
Christmas wafer - family members and friends break off a small piece of the wafer and give it to one another along with a blessing. Breaking off and exchanging part of wafer with someone is symbol of forgiveness between two people and is meant to remind participants of the importance of Christmas and family.

3. When do you put up your tree?
First or second weekend in december.

4. Are you a black Friday shopper?
Noooo, shopping drives me nuts in general

5. Do you travel at Yule or stay at home?
I usually travel home to Poland, to stay with my family. However this year I spend Yule in Edinburgh with Mardylas

6. What is your funniest Yule memory?
Few years ago, I convinced my family I'm not able to come home. On Yule eve I knocked the door. Nobody was expecting me at all. That was a great time :)

7. What is your favourite Yule movie?
The most most favourite is “Love Actually”. I do like also “The Nightmare before Christmas”.

8. Do you do any Yule baking and which is your favourite treat?
I help and my favourite are gingerbread cookies yummy

9. Real or fake tree?
I dream to have a real tree. So far I end up each year with a fake one :/

Get the balls and join us on the Domestic Witch yummiest collection
Goat Cheese Olive Balls

250 grams of soft goat cheese
1/4 cup of finely chopped kalamata olives
1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
1 teaspooon of very finely chopped fresh rosemary
1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
1/4 teaspoon of freshly cracked black pepper
2 teaspoons of freshly cracked mixed peppercorns for coating

In a small bowl, mash together the goat cheese, olives, red pepper flakes, rosemary, salt and black pepper. Roll into 1 inch balls. Sprinkle with a bit of the mixed peppercorns, rolling the ball around on the palm of your hand to coat. Chill for 30 minutes. Serve with thin crackers or simply consume as is.

In my homeland - Poland, we celebrate Santa Claus Day on the 6th December. On that day Santa comes to visit you with his big sack full of presents or sometimes hide presents under your bed.

I faithfully continue this tradition even though I live in Scotland now ;]

The Rubik's Cube is a 3-D mechanical puzzle invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ernő Rubik. Originally called the "Magic Cube".

In a classic Rubik's Cube, each of the six faces is covered by 9 stickers, among six solid colours (traditionally white, red, blue, orange, green, and yellow).

A pivot mechanism enables each face to turn independently, thus mixing up the colours. For the puzzle to be solved, each face must be a solid colour.

I already mixed up the colours. Now I will spend centuries to solve it ;D

During our many wanders I received a gift from a local shop - a small scarabaeus.

Scarab known also as kheper, and as the animal was associated with life and rebirth. Literally the word means "he who is coming into being". Khephir was a self-created god. The scarab lays its eggs in a ball of dung and rolls it to hide in a safe place. From this unlikely substance the Egyptians observed new life emerging, seemingly from the the earth. Hence he was a god of creation.

Early in Egyptian history the beetle also came to represent the soul rising from death.

Similarly, they believed that Khephri, in the form of a gigantic scarab, rolled the sun like a huge ball through the sky, then rolled it through the underworld to the eastern horizon. Each morning Khephri would renew the sun so that it could give life to all the world. As a deity closely associated with resurrection, Khephir was believed to be swallowed by his mother, Nut each evening and passed through her body to be reborn each morning.

And as a cat lover, I admire the Goddess Bastet.

Bastet was the goddess of fire, cats, of the home and pregnant women. The Goddess was represented as a desert cat, or a woman with the head of a cat.

According to one myth, she was the personification of the soul of Isis. She was also called the "Lady of the East".

Bastet seemed to have two sides to her personality, docile and aggressive. Her docile and gentle side was displayed in her duties as a protector of the home, and pregnant women. Her aggressive and vicious nature was exposed in the accounts of battles in which the pharaoh was said to have slaughtered the enemy as Bastet slaughtered her victims.

When I first tasted mince pie I was suprised. I thought it supposed to be a pastry with a meat in it ;]

Mince pies are a British festive sweet pastry, traditionally consumed during the Xmas and New Year period. They are filled with mincemeat – a preserve typically containing apple, dried fruits such as raisins and sultanas, spices, and either suet or vegetable shortening. Well, originally, mincemeat always contained meat.

And I didn't really like it.

But from past few days I felt like eating mince pie o_O

As the desire grew, my salivary glands were producing more and more saliva, making my hunger center very distracted.

As a result I bought for the first time, just for me, mince pies ;]

It is a blue to gray green mineral consisting of hydrated copper and aluminum phosphate [CuAl6(PO4)4(OH)8*4H2O]. It is the only gemstone belonging to the phosphates family. It is a hydrous phosphate of aluminum with a small percentage of copper which gives it the blue coloring. When associated with iron the color tends to be greenish.
Turquoise is formed over millions of years by a chemical reaction that occurs when water leaks through rocks which contain specific minerals such as copper and aluminum. The percentages of the minerals in the rock dictate the gemstone’s shade.
Like diamonds, gemstones are graded by color, cut, clarity and carat weight.

I was born in december so it's my birthstone and I very often wear above set of necklace and bracelet. Just missing the earings ;]

This is the symbol of undying love and eternal friendship.

In a German legend, God named all the plants when a tiny unnamed one cried out, "Foget me not, O Lord!" God replied, "That shall be your name."

In another legend, the little flower cried out, "Forget me not!" as Adam and Eve left the Garden of Eden.

The Christ Child was sitting on Mary's lap one day and said that he wished that future generations could see her eyes. He touched her eyes and then waved his hand over the ground and blue forget-me-nots appeared, hence the name forget-me-not. In Italian they're called "occhi della Madonna" (Mary's eyes).

In the 15th century Germany, it was supposed that the wearers of the flower would not be forgotten by their lovers. Legend says that in medieval times, a knigh and his lady were walking along the side of the river. He piked a posy of flowers, but because of the weight of his armour he fell into the river. As he was drowning he threw the posy to his loved one and shouted "Forget-me-not!"

This is a flower connected with romance and tragic fate.

It was often worn by ladies as a sign of faithfulness and enduring love.

The Foxglove

Also known as Bloody Fingers, Cottagers, Dead Men's Bells, Dog's-Finger's, Digitalis, Faerie Caps, Faerie's Fingers, Faerie's Glove, Faerie Thimbles, Finger Flower, Fingerhut (German), Flapdock, Flopdock, Folk's Glove, Gloves of Our Lady, Lion's-Mouth, Popdock, Rabbit's-Flower, Revbielde (Norwegian), Scotch Mercury, Throatwort, Virgin's Glove and Witches' Gloves.

The Foxglove derives its common name from the shape of the flowers resembling the finger of a glove. The earliest known form of the word is the Anglo-Saxon foxes glofa (the glove of the fox). The northern legend is that bad faeries gave these blossoms to the fox so that he might put them on his toes to soften his tread when he prowled among the roosts. Its Norwegian name, Revbielde, which translates to "Foxbell," is the only foreign name that alludes to the Fox.

The mottlings, or speckles, on the blossoms were said to mark where the elves had placed their fingers, and one legend ran that the marks on the Foxglove were a warning sign of the baneful juices secreted by the plant, thus, in Ireland gain the plant is commonly called Dead Man's Thimbles.

Grown in the garden will protect the house and garden itself. In the past Welsh women used the Foxglove's leaves to prepare black ink to paint the crosses on the stones around the house to keep the evil away. It is said when the foxglove bows its head, it is the Faerie walking by.
The Foxglove is extremely poisonous if swallowed!

In Scotland, it forms the badge of the Farquharsons, as the Thistle does of the Stuarts. Its Latin adjective Digitalis derives from Digitabulum, which means "a thimble."

Medicinal value
The Foxglove's leaves are good for cleansing for cold sores and ulcers; the leaves may be boiled and used as an expectorant.

In 1775, about 100 years after the last witch-hunt, 34-year-old William Withering was a doctor in Stafford, England, and a medical botanist. He heard rumors of an "old Shropshire woman" who could treat "dropsy," that term for the disease we now call congestive heart failure. He realized that the active ingredient was foxglove.

The drug derived from it, digitalis, has only recently been surpassed by other medications as a treatment for congestive heart failure.

I needed to do some shopping today. Magical supplies of candles and incenses. Here is my favourite shop in Edinburgh Wyrdshop. Sarz and Mr D. are very friendly and helpful. You can buy almost anything you wish candles, incenses, wands, runes, pentagrams, books, herbs and lots of other "stuff".

There is also great shop with magical supplies in Glasgow 23Enigma

It's really worth to pop in. Everyone needs a little bit of magic in their life!!!

Today I found out about Reclaiming Tradition, which is a spiritual path of witchcraft begun by feminist Pagans. Its principles are based on united feminity power. So no man allowed ;]

Dandelion

Have you ever wondered that you can use simple things to make your life full of magic?
There is a dandelion - make a wish and blow on it.

But be careful what you wish for it might come true.

Dandelions are associated with ancient oracles, in the language of flowers, if you blow on a dandelion seed clock, you would divine according to which quantity of seeds go in whichever direction. I personally use the juice of dandelions to cure warts. Simply rub the juice on a wart at morning and night, for the 3 days leading to the full moon.

Who am I? I'm passionate about photography and travelling. I follow the path of Mother Nature in my own magical witchy way. I do not belong to a coven I'm an extraordinary individual.
